  • Data structure
    • Use referencing for the data structure.  Prevent loops on the display side by checking eids in an array when building the tree so that if the same eid (aka page) is already in the direct path array you skip the page and dont display it. 
    • How are we going to meld in alternate navigation systems ie. landscape view (appalachian) versus topic view (fire)  The new system should work off of topics and not have seperate encyclopedias

Tasks for mike:

• Review authoring style guide and email updated version to Bryan
• Send bryan cd with southern wide book material
• Look for journal introduction material

Tasks for Bryan:

• Allow authors to provide EID when creating a link in a page via visual editor
• Fix the Credits item in the tools menu
• Add tree navigation to the home page.  Want to provide two levels of depth from the home page in a collapsable tree starting with the encyclopedia level and showing sections as the childer.  When a user gets into a section, the tree should change so that the top level is that section.  Above the bold section title, place a link to the appropriate encyclopedia and below the appropriate level. This will allow the user to navigate the entire system w/o using the drop-downs.
• Delete Plone Setup from the Tools menu and add Site Components like forestry bmp and make it restricted to manager role
• Advanced search form change author drop down to list all authors and make it the full name and not username
• Make a page that will list the authors in the system, alphabetically by last name and show some contact information.  Put in a sortable table.
• Email John Pye about what program he is using to parse word files into html (HTML Transit 6.0 by Stellent (tm), Inc. www.stellent.com)
• How are we going to handle south-wide encyclopedia material. Encyclopedia of Southern Forest Science
• Look into adding a glossary system like george host at univ minn natural resource inst on water in the lake states.
• Add peer review date to the bottom citation after last modified date.
• Put breadcrumbs in all views and make them relative to the template being applied.\\
